Overview:

Little hands learn big things about mass, matter, and physical properties around them. It's the Nature of Science…hands-on!

Outcome:

Students will learn, using hands-on projects, the how solids, liquids, and gas are different, be able to define matter, and understand how different objects react to different circumstances. Students will understand how solutions and mixtures are made and why a phyical change is not the same as a chemical change.

Set Up:

Each show is geared for no more than 30 children. The presenter will need one small table (teacher's desk size) to set up on. The children will need three large tables with chairs to seat up to 10 students at each table. Presentations can be done in the classroom, media center, or cafeteria, so long as there is a working sink nearby. The presenter must set up and stay in one room while the children rotate between classes/groups. Teacher/counselor participation is required. Smocks are suggested but not necessary for this presentation. Hint: Bring cameras to document the educational fun!!

Grade Level:

This presentation is highly appropriate for grades VPK, K, 1, & 2. Shows are modified to fit grade levels. Gifted and special needs population presentations are available.
