Overview:

Children learn how to build and maintain a worm compost bin. Discover how organic matter decomposes with the help of wonderful worms!

Outcome:

Students will learn about the role decomposers have, the importance of worms in the food-chain, ecosystem, and community. The students and teachers will participate in creating a mini-ecosystem (worm bin) while providing the things all living organisms need to survive and thrive. This model of the earth will allow full observations and ongoing units for the class.
